JUDGE NOT, CONDEMN NOT
By Edna Fuentes - Dela Fuente
Same goes with when you see a river, with very calm surface, but unaware of the undercurrent running underneath.
Russian poet Mikhail Lermontov reminds us: “Many a calm river begins as a turbulent waterfall, yet none hurtles and foams all the way down to the sea. Sadly, not everyone knows this. Although things might seem tumultuous now, it won't be that way forever.”
In view of the above, passing on judgment too prematurely should never be done.
Come to think of it, who are we to judge, considering that no one is perfect.
For Jesus Christ commanded in Matthew 7:1-5, Holy Bible, English Standard Version, ESV
“Judge not,
that you be not judged.
“For with
the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it
will be measured to you.
“Why do you
see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is
in your own eye?
“Or how can
you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is
the log in your own eye?
“You
hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see
clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.”
SINNERS' PRAYER OF REPENTANCE
“Dear GOD THE FATHER,
"I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness.
"I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sins and that You raised Him to life.
"I want to trust in Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord [owner of my life]; from this day forward.
"Guide my life and help me to do Your will according to the Holy Scriptures.
"I pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.”
